Players
Is there any cost to me, at any time, if I'm looking for a job through
Players?
All the core services for job seekers are offered free of charge: it is completely
free to search for jobs, receive PlayersJob Mail, create and save a Resume online
and access articles about job searching and career development.
Do I need
to register to use Players?
No. Job seekers can access some services at Players without registering.
You can browse articles, search for job vacancies, research clubs and
recruitment agencies and apply for jobs offline without registering.
Why should
I register?
You should register so you can use extra services. It's free, private and it
only takes a minute. Then you can use all the My Players services for registered
users, like:
-Creating and saving your Resume online
-Applying for jobs online
-Having clubs search your Resume from our database (headhunting)
-PlayersJob Mail
How do
I register?
Click on the “Register Now” link and complete the form. It takes
30 seconds max! You will be e-mailed a confirmation of your password.
I can't
remember my user name or password. What can I do?
We can send your username and password to the email address you have registered
with us. Simply click on the “forgot password” link on the homepage.
Remember, your username and password are important. They are the key to managing
all your personal information with Players. Write them down in a safe,
secure place. Use the same details for PlayersJob Mail and your PlayersResume.
How do
I change the email address I've registered with Players?
Simply login to your account and click on “My Account” to change
your email address.
How does
Players job search work?
There are jobs listed here by clubs around New Zealand, in a wide
range of different job categories. To make your search criteria more specific,
you can use one or more keywords. Jobs that match your search are listed in
date order, with the most recent jobs first. To view more details about any
particular job, just click on its title - this is a link to a more detailed
description.
Can I search
more than one option within a search box, at the same time?
To make your search criteria broader, you can select multiple options within
a category. Just hold down the "Ctrl" key (PC) or "Apple"
key (Mac) while you select with your mouse.
Resume's
Can I apply online without creating my Resume with Players?
No. We ask that you create a new Resume OR upload your existing Resume to your
profile.
Can I apply
offline without registering with Players?
Yes. If the club has specified their contact details, feel free to contact
them directly about applications. However some clubs may not wish to include
their contact details with their vacancy. In this case you may want to apply
online. In all offline applications we would ask that you please mention that
you saw the vacancy at Players
Why should I create a Resume with Players?
Players Resume builder makes it easy to organise your details and breaks
down the chore of writing a Resume into easy steps. If you already have a Resume,
in word .doc or .pdf format, simply upload it to your profile. This will allow
you to apply for jobs online and have your Resume searched by potential clubs
if you desire.
How do
I create a Players Resume?
It's easy. First, you must register. This takes only 30 seconds! Once you have
logged in, visit the “My Resume” link and simply fill in the form.
There are guides and examples on what information you should include. When you
have completed your Resume, you can preview and/ or print it before you save
it to our database.
Can I edit
my Players Resume?
Once you have created your Resume, it’s easy to modify. Simply login to
your account and visit the “Modify Resume” link and make your changes.
How do
I upload my Resume OR a picture to Players?
To upload your MS Word Resume or picture simply hit the "Upload Resume"
button and search for the file on your PC. Resumes must be in .doc, .pdf or
.rtf formats. Within your resume it would be good idea to have a picture or
two of you, so clubs can at least varify your physical description. Resumes
must be under 70kb in size and you can only upload one file. Because Players
offers plenty of space to add your resume in the fields provided, you may just
want to upload a picture, or even better a collage of pictures (action shots,
mug shots etc.) within the same file. To do this you may need to use a graphics
programme such as Photoshop or Fireworks. If you want to do this but dont have
the tools or know-how, you can email the pics to me (bayden@nzsites.co.nz) and
I will do for a fee of $20.
Can my
Profile contain contact details/ URL’s etc?
No. When you register as a Player you are asked for Personal and Contact Information.
This information is included in all online job applications. We ask that you
do not include any personal (name) or contact (address, phone, email or URL)
in your Players Profile. Its ok to have this information in your MS Word Resume.
When clubs search our talent database they see only the Resume/ skills
and experience of the potential employee. In order for the club to view
contact details and your MS Word Resume they must first pay a fee ($50). Any
Player who includes their personal and/ or contact information in their Resume
will be deleted from Players without notice.
How do
I change my Resume from public to private (or vice versa)?
When you create your Resume the first tick box says, “The Resume should
not appear in clubs Search List. Will be used only for Online Apply”.
Simply tick this box if you do not want it public for clubs to view. Do
not tick this box if you want clubs to view your Resume. If you secure
a job and are no longer "on the market" please tick this box so you
dont come up in club resume searches.
How do
I preview or print out my Resume?
Visit the “My Resume” link and at the bottom of the page you will
see a “Preview Resume” button. Click on this button to Preview your
Resume and within the Preview page will be a print button, press this to print
your Resume.
How do
I attach a cover letter?
Each Job you apply for, you have the choice of attaching a cover letter. This
is made available at the bottom of every job application. Enter your cover letter
in the field and insert your email address and password to apply online.
How long
will it take to get a reply once I send in an application?
Your application goes directly to the advertiser. The response to your application
depends on the club or recruitment agent.
Can you
tell me the advertiser's contact details so I can find out how my application
is progressing?
Unfortunately, we cannot give out any contact details other than what is contained
in the ad. Each advertiser decides how they want to receive and manage applications
and accordingly, includes contact details such as telephone, postal address
or email in their ad. If they chose not to include these details, we can't tell
you — sorry. (We tell advertisers that it is very important to candidates
that they are advised of the outcome of their application. Nevertheless, some
advertisers don't do this or take a while to let you know. We'll continue to
raise the issue on your behalf.)
Clubs
Is there any cost to register my club with Players?
No. It is 100% Free to resgister your club with Players. This
will allow you to upload your logo, complete your club profile and have

How do

30 seconds max! You will be e-mailed a confirmation of your password and club
details immediately after you register.
I can't
remember my username or password.
How do

Simply login to your account and click on “Modify Profile” to modify
your club details.
Are clubs
outside of New Zealand able to advertise jobs on Players?
Yes . Players enables clubs outside of New Zealand to use this service. In fact
we encourage it so our local sports people get opportunities to go overseas.
How do
we upload our club logo?

you will see a “Browse” button where you can upload your club
logo from your Hard drive. Logo’s must be .gif or .jpg or format and not
be higher than 140 (wide) x 70 (high) pixels and 10,000kb. Your logo will be
automatically inserted at the head of each of your job listings. If you need

and Job Listings. Featured club logos get displayed on the home page, promoting
your business and its job vacancies. All featured clubs must have a
logo.
How do
we become a featured club?
To become a featured club you must simply upload your logo to your profile and
purchase one of the featured pricing plans. See pricing table.
How do
I search Resume's?
Its free for all clubs to search and view all posted Resume's. However if you
see a Resume you like and would like to make contact (view contact details of
the person) you will need to purchase a Resume contact ($29.95) before these
details will be made available to you. These can be purchased in the "planning"
section of your club account.
How do
I post a Job?
Register with us first (see above). Login to your account. Click the
"add job" link and add your job details. Your first job is free
for 3 months and will be posted (in real-time) as soon as you submit
it. Enjoy!
Ive just
posted a job and the contact name is the same as our club name! How do I add
a contact name to our listing?
When you "add a job" your club name gets inserted to the Contact Name
Field by default. When adding a new job, please ensure that you change this
to your contact name otherwise it will stay as is. Do this by going to the bottom
of your job listing where the contact details are located and edit the "Contact
Name" field.
Are clubs
required to upload their logo's?
No. However your club must have a logo to be listed as a featured club
and have your logo displayed on our homepage. It gives a professional image
to potential players who may be looking.
What if
our logo is larger that 140 x 70 pixels?
Email the URL of your logo or website to bayden@nzsites.co.nz, or send us the
actual logo and we will resize it and upload it to your profile for $20.
